This week I turn 30, and to keep the reflection going on this side, I thought it would be fun to create a list of things I did before actually turning 30. This is more of a challenge to my own ability to think and find 30 different things I can feel proud of than actually a deliberate act of bringing you something useful, but maybe this is also a way to let you know a little bit more about me. I hope I don’t bore you!
So, before I turned 30, I…
- survived psychological bullying at school
- overcame morbid obesity
- won a third prize at a national scientific fair
- won a ticket to the United States
- tried out USA’s food portions
- had a three page interview on a magazine
- graduated in psychological sciences
- was interviewed in television three times
- had two plastic surgeries
- created a free digital magazine
- published my first book in Portuguese
- graduated in social and organisational psychology
- won a doctoral scholarship
- moved abroad
- shared a house with strangers
- made my everyday life in a foreign language
- learned how to cook
- learned how to wash and iron my clothes
- attended a mindfulness international conference in Rome
- had three professional burnout crisis
- acknowledged God
- accepted my mediumship
- learned to listen to my intuition
- learned to recognise abusive relationships
- got certified in wellbeing/life coaching
- bought myself a MacBook
- accepted that it is ok to be different
- assumed myself as a blogger
- chose wellbeing over money
- became a cat lover
I’m curious about you. What did you do before turning 30?
Very happy with number 30 – everyone should be a cat lover. I plan on doing something similar for my 27th birthday. It’s nice to look back and reflect on what we’ve learnt throughout our lives 🙂

Holy shit you’re 30? Never would of guessed that. Happy birthay, interesting little read I enjoyed how the flucuatates from major to minor, but I intuit your the kind of person who’s able to understand that the minors often become the majors.

Thank you! Haha, I don’t know if that means you thought I was a dinossaur or younger. I think you’re right, smalls things more often than not are even more important to me than the bigger ones. “And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.”– Antoine de Saint-Exupery

The terradactor… Kidding! I guessed you were closer to my age (20). That’s a nice one aswell 🙂. Even staring at a candle or your hand can become a powerful practice.

Happy 30th! That’s quite a list of accomplishments to achieve by 30. I’m curious what this one means: made my everyday life in a foreign language
and how did this one turn out? tried out USA’s food portions
love this one: had three professional burnout crisis, teaches us to keep going even though times can get tough. that they are experiences we can learn from. 🙂
Regardless, I thought it was useful! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! ♥️ 😄 My native language is Portuguese and I moved to England. Since then, I rarely spoke Portuguese – more often than not I now struggle to find words in my own language, haha. The burnout crisis were definitely a wake up call to say that we should stop walking a path that we know it’s not aligned with our soul. The side effects are still kicking in today 😅 If the crisis hadn’t happened, this blog wouldn’t however exist today… life is really a box of chocolates, we never quite know what we are going to get 💝

Thank you, beautiful princess! I’m learning to cherish these achievements for sure – I never celebrated any of them as they happened in life. To many more magical years and blog sharing! Sending you much love xx

What a lot you have accomplished so far… Such an incredible journey.
Before I was 30 I can say that I was with you on Numbers 5, 14, 15, 16, 27. Sort of 17 and 18. And definitely 30. Always a Cat Lover! 🙂
I had to wait for my early 40s before the professional and personal meltdown so you’re way ahead of me there 🙂 You have the tools to make your 30s (and the rest of your life) so meaningful…
Happy Birthday! xxx

Dear God, living with strangers for me was a nightmare, hope the experience was rather enjoyable for you 😆😆 I honestly did this list to make me feel better about my current reality and don’t focus so much on the feeling that I’m failing at life 😂 I’m letting the universe have my back, hopefully I had the meltdown earlier so I can have the kids in my 30s, hehe. Have to find the father first though. And a paying job. I wish I could put pictures on these comment boxes because I got my cat today in a pose that totally said ‘hakuna matata’ 🦹♀️🦹♀️ Thank you for your support, it has made a great difference in my life! xxx

I am terrible at living with strangers. I’m bad enough at living with people I know 🙂 (and by the way, I haven’t worked out how to use any emoticons except the smiley face yet on my laptop – 🙂 ). Oh that is so sweet to say I’ve made a difference… same to you! xx

Now that you mention that, I must say I’m working on that too. It’s not always easy to ask people we know “can you just leave me alone and in silence for half an hour?” – at least, this is the struggle I might face, haha. Finding humour has been life saving. I’m going to share the trick I use for emoticons: https://getemoji.com – I copy and past 😀 xx
