What is Positive Psychology (PP)?

PP is a specific field within Psychology which studies and promotes wellbeing and happiness. Hence, the goal is to help people live and perform at their best. Here are some of the themes addressed:

A Model of Wellbeing & Happiness

Martin Seligman, often considered as the “father” of Positive Psychology, proposed a model of wellbeing and happiness that includes the following 5 elements:

  • Positive Emotions
  • Engagement
  • Relationships
  • Meaning, and
  • Accomplishments 

The PERMA model has been used worldwide to develop individual and organisational programs.
