Book Giveaway Result & Update On My Return to Lisbon ✨

On my last blog post, I announced a book giveaway to celebrate a WordPress milestone – 400 readers. As promised, I randomly selected the winner yesterday night, using a google’s number generator (Google becomes handier and handier!). In total, there were 9 comments, but only 8 were eligible, so that’s why you will see in the picture that I asked for a random number between 1 and 8 and not between 1 and 9.

God bless Google. And the winner was…

*drums rolling*

Bushra, author of the blog Bushra’s Lifestyle

Here is her answer to the question What is Happiness to you?:

Happiness to me is helping others and watching them grow. growing up my mother taught us “Always do good to others and it will bring you tons of joy”. I couldn’t agree any more as growing old that’s the most peaceful thing for me now. Although the bigger joy to me is when I see my kids, especially being a mother of a girl with Down Syndrome makes me so happy.

How inspiring is this? I love reading people’s perspectives on happiness and life. Helping others and nourishing them is one of the many ways we can boost our own happiness.

I would like to thank Bushra and all the other beautiful people who participated on this very first book giveaway here at The Wellbeing Blogger. Please make sure you visit the original book giveaway’s post and read the answers of all the other inspiring bloggers, because you will love it! I know I did, and I will reply back to each one of them as soon as I can – right now I’m in the middle of packing as much as I can and I haven’t been able to use my laptop much.

Things have been stressful, but G. has helped me a lot, I don’t even know what I can say to express how much he has supported me over these last few weeks in Canterbury. And yes, it will be messier to leave him and I don’t really know what’s going to happen on that regard. He is very loving and I’m not in the right state of mind to see things in perspective.  All I know, and he was the first one to tell, is that I could at least try to leave with some peace and good memories. So that’s what I’m trying to do while carrying bags and getting rid of a huge piles of old papers in my office… and having pizza, and wine, and kebabs, and burgers…

I hope to post again soon. I had planned to start a new series here on the blog inspired by another fellow WordPress blogger. To give you a taste, I will be posting on a daily basis using questions that have been designed to help potential couples knowing each other better. I will explain everything hopefully later today, but if not… you know I got carried away with more bags and boxes. 🙂

Book Giveaway + 400 Readers

Hey beautiful people,

My blog just hit the 400 followers mark on WordPress! I’m very happy to have achieved this mile before going back home and I want to celebrate it with you here, so… I’m hosting a book giveaway!

Now, before I go into the book giveaway, I would like to thank you all for your support and time. I started blogging when I was 12, but this blog is the first one to last so many days and months: it will be 2 years old in early 2019!

A Quick Catch Up: 300 Readers & 10 YouTube Subscribers!

Hello beautiful ones,

I would like to sincerely thank all of you who have subscribed and followed this blog so far. A special thanks as well to everyone who has visited and shared their magical wisdom through insightful and truthful comments. I’m always learning with you, all the way up.

I started out blogging here in the earliest months of 2017, right after a big “dark night of the soul”. My aim at that time was to rekindle my passion for blogging, connect with other fellow human beings, just like yourself, and to express my views on what does it really mean to be a human. If you follow my posts, you probably know that I share the bad, the good, and the ugly of such experience, because I think that’s the only way to integrate ourselves.

I now realise that this blog is not only a platform in which I write up some thoughts and feelings, but is also a mirror of who I am. This blog has been literally my “buddy”, and I’m even tearful as I write these words – what can I do, I already confessed myself as a highly sensitive person here, didn’t I? *haha*.

This buddy of mine has also documented my growth and changes through a period of my life that is now coming to an end. This was a period of incredible ups and downs. I moved to a foreign country, I saw myself alone, and I sat on the floor crying asking for God’s help more than I can remember. And God always came to me, through mysterious ways, believe it or not.

All this to say that I feel humble for hitting today the 300 readers mark on WordPress and even more humble to see that I have also hit the mark of my first 10 YouTube subscribers. Some people will laugh of these numbers, and that’s ok; other people will celebrate with me, because as small as it may seem, it means a lot to me.

When I first started writing here I was craving authentic human connections. As I kept writing I established, however, the most authentic human connection I can ever possibly have: the connection with myself. This connection has been the key to then understand a lot of the things I was doing wrong, or not doing at all, regarding those authentic connections which I was desperately seeking.

My path wouldn’t be the same, nonetheless, if there wasn’t an audience. Contrary to what many people may think, we as human beings naturally crave connection to others because it is through such connection that we understand the world and ourselves at a deeper level. Hence, thank you for showing up. A simple comment, a heartfelt feedback, a word of motivation is what we all need and I have certainly benefited from this here.

Thank you. You have enormously contributed to my wellbeing.
